Michelle Richmond – helping you to fly higher in the new world

Meet Michelle Richmond

I was first introduced to Michelle by a good friend and colleague who encouraged me to go along to one of her workshops. I was captivated by the ideas Michelle shared around “what you love, what you want to create and what wants to be created through you” and our journey from knowing to trusting to having uncompromising certainty in ourselves and our work in the world and I am delighted to be her client and friend.

Tell me a little about yourself – where are you from and who and what is important in your life?

I live between Australia and Kenya. My two daughters are the most important thing in the world to me. Personally seeing beyond the ordinary, expanding my mind and stretching myself to be on an eternal continuum of growth and applied understanding is what fuels me. The higher I fly the higher those around me can fly with me.

We all have previous chapters in our stories – Tell me about your working life/business experiences before now?

In my late 30’s I bumped into a health challenge that opened my heart and mind to new understanding about what is possible. Previously I had been in property development, owned a small children’s wear label and ran a Boutique Hotel, Restaurant and Bar with my husband.

In my endeavour to deepen my understanding for my own personal interest, my direction organically changed. I founded the Asher Institute of Integrative Medicine and ran it for 10 years, until the point came that I realised I needed to step out from behind the ‘Institute’ name and be my own brand.

Over the past 20 years my clientele has changed and evolved with me. Through working with the Institute I realised that people who reconnected with who they are, took responsibility for their health and their lives , learned to love themselves and lived their passion usually healed or at least had a better quality of life. I see what I do now, as disease prevention.

Please provide a snapshot of your business

My Leadership Programs, Master Mind and Safari’s support leaders and change-makers to break through paradigms and make an impact in our world.

Assuming you are now in “Your Next Chapter”, what led you here? Tell me about your purpose, your why, the difference you want to make, who you are called to serve?

When I first started this journey 20 years ago, I realised that ‘my way’ of bringing significant change to people and the planet is to educate people so they can heal and flourish. In learning to love themselves people gain self-respect, own their value and worth and through doing so:

The way they think and treat themselves and others expands
They have a greater respect for themselves and their bodies
They are more connected to what they consume
They have a greater awareness of how; who they are, what they do and what they consume impacts the planet.

And their minds and bodies heal …

Lowering the amount of chemicals; antidepressants, antibiotics, pain killers, hormones etc they flush down the toilet daily, impacting our waterways, marine life and purity of what we consume.

Fundamentally we break the cycle of ill health and disease both individually, for our native animals and the planet!

What did you find most challenging about getting started/moving in a new direction?

Knowing when it’s time to change things up and evolve. Then creating the space to mentally surrender the current form, how I think it should be, where I think I should go and creating quiet space for the new to emerge.

What have you found most fulfilling?

The messages I am blessed to receive constantly from people whose business and lives have improved through the things they have learnt from me.

Have you experienced self-doubt? What causes it to flare and how do you work through it when it hits?

Doubt is a signal that it is time for introspection, that there is an unseen glass ceiling waiting to be broken through, and it’s time to level up.

How do you feel you have grown since you started?

Gosh how long do you have? I am not at all the person I used to be but most importantly I am happy being me.

What has been most effective for you when it comes to sharing your message and attracting clients?

Clarity, focused intent, and being in resonance and coherence with that which I am sharing.

Have you developed any particular habits/strategies that facilitate getting things done in your business?

As soon as I wake I visualise and feel my ‘vision’ as if it already is.
I ask the question ‘How can I best serve today’ every morning before meditating.
I check in with the top 3 things I can do every morning to elevate my business.
I have clear boundaries with my time.

Why do you feel women in the 40’s and beyond make fabulous entrepreneurs?

40 was a fabulous birthday for me, the trials and tribulations I had experienced had bought me to a new place in myself, that evolution has continued but 40 seemed like a turning point.

My experience shows that most of us bump into a life experience in our late thirties, that sees us come home to ourselves, own our wisdom and be more of who we really are. We move out of who we thought we should be and be who we really are, doing more of what we really love. There is an unharnessed wisdom that comes with that!

What would you say to other women who are standing on the edge of their own Next Chapter, not sure if they can take the leap?

JUMP ….
Breathe, take the first step, then the next, follow the golden thread and your new future will evolve, not always exactly as you envisioned it, but exactly how it is meant to be.

What’s next for you? Share your vision!

The form is still evolving but simply put … to catalyse individuals and/or business to live their passion and make a greater impact in the world. And most importantly to stretch myself and make a greater impact!
